Road reconstruction works on Cross Street and Waterman Street, Old Bar are progressing, with works on Cross Street now complete.
Meanwhile works on Waterman Street are progressing well and are expected to be completed in early September, weather permitting.
Winter weather and challenging ground conditions have required enhancements to the pavement design on Waterman Street to provide better long-term road performance and durability.
As part of the remaining works, the intersection of Belford Street and Waterman Street will be closed from Tuesday 18 to Friday 28 August, weather permitting. Traffic management and detours will be in place during the closure.
To help minimise disruption, affected residents will receive information about the upcoming works and property access arrangements. Crews will also assist residents with moving bins where waste collection vehicles are unable to access the street, ensuring regular collection services can continue.
Once complete, the project will improve road condition and drainage, while reducing future maintenance requirements.
