Property and assault charges in Kirwan, QLD

Five people have been charged with property offences after police attended a Kirwan residence yesterday morning and were allegedly assaulted.

Around 8.20am, on May 24 police attended an Easterbrook Crescent address and located two people wanted in relation to the alleged unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

During the arrest, other people in the house allegedly obstructed and assaulted police.

A 17-year-old Oonoonba male was charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and wilful damage of police property. He is due to appear in Townsville Childrens Court. The unlawful use of a motor vehicle charge relates to an alleged incident on April 4 at Corella Crescent, Mount Louisa.

A 13-year-old Rasmussen boy was charged with three counts of attempted enter a dwelling with intent, two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and one count of burglary. He was refused bails and will appear in Townsville Childrens Court. The burglary and unlawful use of a motor vehicle charges relate to an alleged incident at Ahearne Street, Hermit Park on May 19 and the second unlawful use of a motor vehicle charge relates to an alleged incident on March 10 at Carmody Street, Hyde Park.

A 21-year-old Burdell man was charged with burglary, receiving tainted property, obstructing police, serious assault and contravening a direction. He was refused bails and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today. The burglary charge relates to an alleged incident at Shoalmarra Drive, Mount Low on May 24.

A 44-year-old Rasmussen woman was charged with obstructing police, serious assault of a police officer, wilful damage of police property, committing public nuisance, possessing dangerous drugs and damaging evidence. She was refused bail and is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court today.

A 27-year-old Kirwan woman was charged with obstructing police, serious assault and two counts of contravening a direction. She is due to appear in Townsville Magistrates Court on June 7.
