Property crime and vehicle theft at Mackay

Mackay Police arrested a local man on Friday following a recent series of burglary and vehicle related offences where residential and industrial areas of Mackay had been targeted.

Officers located the man at an address in Paget where it is alleged two stolen vehicles, a large number of vehicle keys, cash, drugs and other items were located.

The 28-year-old was arrested and charged with 40 offences including break and enter, unlawful use of motor vehicles, stealing, receiving suspected stolen property, possess tainted property, possess dangerous drugs and unlicensed driving.

A 24-year-old woman located at the residence was arrested for alleged breaches of bail conditions.

Both are due to appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court this morning.

Detectives would like to thank the community for their assistance in providing information that directly assisted the police investigation.

Investigations are continuing to locate a number of items of located property.
