Property offence charges in Castle Hill, QLD

Police have charged a man and woman following a break and enter in Castle Hill this morning.

Just after 2am, police will allege a man and woman have unlawfully entered a property on Stuart Street and stole two cars. A grey Volkswagen Golf and a white Peugeot wagon.

Just before 11am, police observed the stolen Peugeot driving dangerously on Riverway Drive where it has crashed into the gutter on the incorrect side of the road.

The car continued driving on the incorrect side of the road before stopped on Geoffrey Court in Rasmussen.

Police will allege the man driving the car ran from the scene, while the woman was arrested by police. During this time the car has rolled into a unmarked police car causing minor damage.

A short time later, the man was taken into custody following a foot pursuit. A taser was presented and deployed due to the man failing to stop for police.

A 21-year-old Heatley woman has been charged with seven counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, three counts of stealing and one count of unlawful entry of a vehicle.

Police also charged a 19-year-old Condon man with five counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, two counts each of stealing and trespass, one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle adversely affected by a drug, serious assault person over 60, robbery in company, burglary and commit indictable offence enter dwelling with intent at night and obstruct police officer.

They are both due to appear in the Townsville Magistrate Court Thursday (tomorrow) October 24.
