Proposal to improve safety along South Parade, Blackalls Park

Council is proposing an upgrade to South Parade, Blackalls Park between Fassifern Road and Centre Avenue to improve safety for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.

We are asking residents of the area to provide feedback on the proposed upgrades by Monday 19 October 2023.

The upgrades include:

  • road rehabilitation between Fassifern Road and Centre Avenue
  • upgrading and relocating bus stop 2283104 to a compliant boarding point
  • upgrading bus stop 228374 to be disability compliant.
  • upgrading and extending footpaths
  • improving drainage
  • installation of kerb and channel
  • upgrading existing pedestrian crossing and lighting on South Parade
  • increasing signage and line marking.

Construction is anticipated to start in the 2024-2025 financial year.

During works, there will be temporary changes to pedestrian and access arrangements around South Parade, Blackalls Park. Signage will be displayed onsite to notify of changed conditions.
