Providers to benefit from new NDIS transition initiatives

The Australian Government has announced two new initiatives designed to
assist disability service providers to successfully transition to the NDIS: The
Boosting the Local Care Workforce (BLCW) website and a Transition Assistance
Funding round. The Boosting the Local Care Workforce website provides a range
of resources to assist providers to transition to the NDIS, including an ‘NDIS Demand Map’.
The map provides estimates of participant, workforce and spending amounts by
postcode.Interested parties can use the website to contact BLCW Program Regional
Coordinators. Coordinators can provide localised information and support,
assist providers to complete a Readiness Assessment, and connect stakeholders
with complementary programs and initiatives in the disability and aged care
sectors.Under the Boosting the Local Care Workforce Program, eligible organisations can
apply for up to $20,000 of tailored business support under the Transition Assistance Funding program.
Service providers can use this funding to purchase tailored professional
services, including business advice, to enhance their business and workforce capability.
The closing date for Transition Assistance Funding applications is 26 April
2019.
