Public appeal after Lonsdale Street burglary

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives are hoping to identify a man following a burglary at a Melbourne apartment last month.

Police have been told an unknown man entered through the front door of the Lonsdale Street apartment about 6pm on Thursday 2 January.

The man stole laptops, hand bags and bank cards while the victim slept.

A few hours later, the man used the bank cards to purchase small items at various stores across the Melbourne CBD.

The man is perceived to be of Caucasian appearance, about 173cm tall, with a slim build and dark coloured hair.

Detectives have released images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.
