Police have released vision of a male as part of an ongoing investigation into the dangerous operation of an electric motorbike at Miami on 8 October, which resulted in an 82-year-old man being injured.
Around 8.45am, an 82-year-old man was riding his bicycle along the Paradise Avenue footpath towards Pizzey Park, when he dismounted to allow a woman pushing a pram to pass on a narrow foot-bridge.
At this time, a male on an electric motorbike rode past the group at speed.
The 82-year-old cyclist told the male to slow down, at which point the male stopped and verbally abused the man, before accelerating towards him and crashing into the man.
The collision caused the 82-year-old to fall to the ground, injuring his back.
The male then fled the scene on his e-motorbike in an easterly direction up Paradise Avenue.
The 82-year-old suffered a fractured vertebrae and had to remain at Robina Hospital for more than two weeks.
Detectives are now appealing for any who recognises the male in the vision, his clothes, his e-motorbike or helmet to come forward.
Investigations continue.
