Public appeal: Grievous bodily harm at Burleigh Heads, QLD

Police have released footage of two men they wish to speak with as part of investigations into the grievous bodily harm of a man at Burleigh Heads on Sunday October 2.

Just before 3:00am, a 24-year-old Biggera Waters man entered into a verbal altercation with two men waiting at a bus-stop on the Gold Coast Highway.

One of the men repeatedly punched the 24-year-old to the side of the face.

The three men then wrestled onto the roadway where an officer, who was attending to another job with his partner nearby, interrupted the trio and broke-up the fight.

While the officer was attending to the injured 24-year-old, the two men fled on foot.

The 24-year-old was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital where scans indicated he had a broken jaw on both sides and a broken nose.

Police are urging the two men depicted in the footage to come forward. Detectives are also asking anyone who recognises the men in the footage, or has any information regarding the assault, to contact them.
