Gold Coast police have declared an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to an ongoing incident at Nerang.
The PSPA was declared around 5pm with an exclusion zone encompassing Riverpark Drive, McLaren Road, Kopwhai Place and Inverness Street.
Members of the public are advised to avoid the area and those within the exclusion zone are asked to remain indoors until further notice.
