Canberrans are invited to get out and enjoy public school fetes, fairs and markets across the city this spring, with events running from September through to November.
From carnival rides and market stalls to live entertainment, great food and a market run by kids, there is plenty on offer for families looking for a fun day out while supporting their local public schools.
ACT Parents President Mahreen Ali said school fetes and fairs were a great way for Canberrans to experience the community spirit of their local schools.
“School fetes are such a fun day out, but they’re also a wonderful opportunity for people to connect with their local school community,” Ms Ali said.
“You don’t need to have a child at the school to come along. Everyone is welcome, and every sausage, cake, book or ride ticket you buy helps support the work P&Cs do for their schools.”
“Bring the family, invite some friends and explore a school fete in your neighbourhood, or venture a bit further afield. You’ll have a great day out and be supporting a public school community at the same time.”
