Pump track will double its size

Works to complete stage two of the Birallee Park Pump Track are due to start today and are expected to be completed towards the end of the year.

The existing section of the track will close for the duration of these works.

This second stage will be a mirror of the existing track and will double its size.

Works also include landscaping, shade, additional seating and a water bubbler.

The pump track at Birallee Precinct is located in the south-west corner of the park and was opened to the public on March 20, 2020.

The facility has increased and enhanced the informal recreational opportunities available in the precinct.

The first stage of the pump track has had incredibly high usage from bike riders, skateboarders and scooter riders of all ages and abilities.

It is one of several high-quality pump tracks in the region, with many riders from the North East and surrounding municipalities becoming regular visitors of the track.

The two tracks side by side will naturally separate the beginners from the more experienced riders.

It will also provide the opportunity for racing type activities and events, as well as provide a pathway for young riders in the area to move into the local BMX or mountain bike clubs.

The project is funded through the Australian Government’s Local Road and Community Infrastructure Fund.
