Pursuit of stolen vehicle, Graceville to Murrumba Downs

A teenage boy and 20-year-old man have been charged after an alleged stolen vehicle was driven at high speed from Graceville to Murrumba Downs last night (May 31)

It will be alleged around 9.10pm a red Toyota Aurion sedan which had been reported stolen from an address in Twin Waters on May 29 was observed by police at an Oxley Road service station.

Two police vehicles attempted to intercept the stolen vehicle before the driver accelerated and struck a petrol bowser, driving off at high speed.

PolAir continued to track the vehicle before a tyre deflation device was successfully deployed at Bald Hills.

Police followed the car before the occupants fled on foot at Murrumba Downs where they were taken into custody shortly after without incident.

A 20-year-old Cherbourg man has been charged with one count each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, driving whilst disqualified, burglary and receiving tainted property.

He is expected to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court this morning.

A 14-year-old Cherbourg boy has been charged with two counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary and receiving tainted property.
