Put some steps into your Spring

Spring into life

After a long winter, Council has the perfect way to shake off the cobwebs, get out and about with a program of fun and interesting health and wellbeing activities in your own community.

Council’s annual Spring into Life program is back with a jam-packed program of free or low-cost activities designed to help shake off the winter blues.

Joint portfolio holder for Active and Inclusive Communities and Deputy Mayor Councillor Michael Grech said that this year’s program offered residents plenty of opportunities to get out and about, meet new friends and discover a range of exciting activities available in their local area.

“Our city comes alive in the warmer months and there are so many free or low-cost ways to get active in Hobsons Bay,” said Cr Grech.

“From delving into an audio book while discovering our wonderful walking paths to joining a craft circle, we’re encouraging residents to get off the couch and get moving.”

Councillor Grech said that the Spring into Life program had something for everyone.

“From sunrise yoga to gardening, self-defence to children’s cooking classes, there’s something for people of all ages, interests and fitness levels,” said Cr Grech.

“This is the perfect opportunity to meet some new friends, try out a range of activities and perhaps discover your next lifelong passion.”

Spring into Life runs from 30 September to 14 October at community centres, libraries and hubs across Hobsons Bay. Most activities are free and many are child-friendly so there’s lots to keep the young ones entertained during the second week of school holidays.
