QPS celebrates holiday season with musical performances for Commissioner’s Christmas Concert

The Honourable Mark Ryan MP joined Commissioner Katarina Carroll in the Queen Street Mall in Brisbane City today, for the Commissioner’s annual Christmas Concert.

Calling Queen Street Mall stage home since 2015, the concert saw members of Queensland Police Service (QPS) tasked with a special responsibility today, keeping the Christmas grinch at bay through music.

The concert saw performances by three QPS founded bands.

Melody in Blue, a choir group formed in 1997 by both sworn and unsworn staff, QPS Pipes and Drums and Band of Blue, founded in 2001 which consists of sworn police staff and one member from Queensland Ambulance Service.

Commissioner Carroll applauded the performances of the QPS bands.

“I always look forward to the Christmas concert, not only to celebrate the Christmas period itself, but also to celebrate the efforts and talents of our QPS members,” she said.

“Thank you again to Melody in Blue, Queensland Police Pipes and Drums and Band of Blue, for your wonderful performances.”
