QRC welcomes QCoal’s 10-year partnership with RFDS

The Queensland Resources Council has welcomed a 10-year partnership between QCoal Group and the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) which led to the creation of the RFDS Dental Service.

QRC Chief Executive Ian Macfarlane said the partnership started in 2010 and resulted in the QCoal Foundation funding a purpose-built 18-wheel semi-trailer equipped with x-ray equipment for dental care.

“Well done to QCoal on this decade long commitment to the health of rural Queenslanders especially through the mobile dental care unit which has provided a vital service to over 15,600 patients who live in regional Queensland.

“Distance is a significant barrier for regional Queenslanders but through this partnership the mobile dental care unit has travelled more than 63,000 kilometres to provide $8.8 million of dental care.

“The Queensland resources industry will continue to support not just the economy of Queensland through the post COVID-19 recovery but the communities in which we operate.”

QCoal said the service had reached locations across the State including – Collinsville, Winton, Sapphire, Monto, Dajarra, Camooweal, Cherbourg, Springsure, Jundah, Theodore, Clermont and Richmond.
