Quad Counter-Terrorism Tabletop Exercise

Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

Yesterday, I opened the Quad Counter-Terrorism Tabletop Exercise in Sydney.

The Counter-Terrorism Tabletop Exercise, held in Sydney from 26-29 October 2022, brought together over 60 counter-terrorism experts from the US, Japan, India and Australia.

Quad experts shared counter-terrorism policy priorities and best practice, exchanged information on evolving terrorist threats, developed understanding of national CT capabilities and increased awareness around the impact of emerging technologies.

The terrorism threats facing our region are diverse and dynamic. They are globally connected, enduring, and require a sustained and collective response.

The Quad is committed to upholding a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Indo-Pacific region, in which sovereignty is respected and countries are free to make their own choices.

Australia looks forward to advancing Quad counter-terrorism cooperation and hosting the Quad Leaders’ Summit in 2023.
