Queensland Budget invests $200 million in disability services

The 2019-20 Queensland Budget was tabled on Tuesday, with $200 million investment in disability services.

The Palaszczuk Government has announced that funding of services and supports for Queenslanders with disability will continue after 1 July, when Queensland enters the full NDIS roll out. More than 45,000 Queenslanders are now receiving supports from the Scheme.

The 2019-20 Budget will continue to fund accommodation support and respite services, as well as support for people with intellectual or cognitive disability who are subject to involuntary detention, care, support and protection under a Forensic Order (disability). The Budget committed $7 million to community transport services for people with disability, and $8.7 million over two years to disability advocacy services.
