The Crisafulli Government is backing Indigenous Business Month with opportunities across the State throughout October connecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander owned businesses with buyers, networks and new opportunities.
Indigenous Business Month arrives with significant momentum after a record year for government procurement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses.
In 2025-26, a record $814 million in government procurement was awarded to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses, and 619 Indigenous businesses secured Queensland Government contracts.
The Crisafulli Government has ensured the Queensland Procurement Policy delivers value for taxpayers alongside meaningful economic uplift for small and family local businesses, as well as for our First Peoples and their businesses.
Across the State, Indigenous Business Month events will bring businesses, government and industry together to build connections, share knowledge and create practical pathways to procurement and commercial opportunities.
Events will showcase opportunities for Indigenous businesses of all sizes to secure new contracts, build buyer relationships, hear from experts and leaders in the sector, and discover how to expand into government and industry supply chains.
It’s just one of the ways the Crisafulli Government is delivering better services through a stronger economy and backing Indigenous businesses after Labor focused on division over delivery during decade of decline.

Minister for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships Fiona Simpson said the month would showcase the capability and success of Indigenous businesses.
“Queensland is open for business under the Crisafulli Government, and our record procurement awarded to Indigenous businesses is driving real change in local communities,” Minister Simpson said.
“I’ve had the privilege to travel across Queensland to hear from our First Peoples and I’ve also met many incredible local Indigenous businesses who have shared their stories with me along the way.
“When you buy from these businesses, you are strengthening communities across our State, supporting financial security, economic growth, and creating jobs.
“As we unlock even more procurement opportunities ahead of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, now is also the time for Indigenous businesses to understand what is on offer and learn how they can get involved.
“Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses deliver exceptional products and services across many sectors critical to our state’s economy and Indigenous Business Month is when we shine a light on their success.”
