Race to top: Point to Pinnacle returns

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events

The Tasmanian Liberal Government are strong supporters of our unique and thriving events industry and I am delighted to see the return of the iconic Point to Pinnacle race this Sunday 21 November, 2021.

Commonly regarded as the world’s toughest half marathon, the gruelling and physically challenging – but scenically stunning course – will see participants complete a course of 21.1km with a total elevation of 1,271 metres which commences at Wrest Point, Hobart, and concludes at the Pinnacle of kunanyi / Mount Wellington.

Point to Pinnacle is popular among both locals and visitors which is why the Tasmanian Liberal Government is pleased to provide $150,000 of grant funding over the next four years through the Major Events Partnership Program.

This event has gone from strength to strength and It is great to see Tasmanians continue to embrace this unique and challenging event.

Congratulations to the event organisers for developing an innovative and challenging race, and I wish the competitors, whether you are running or walking, all the best for an enjoyable climb.
