Richard and his late wife began supporting Cancer Council WA after a friend received a diagnosis over twenty years ago and found support in Cancer Council WA services.

Purchasing $5 tickets in the Cancer Council WA raffle was not only a chance to win, but a way to support West Australians impacted by cancer.

After receiving the call to let him know he was the lucky winner of our $10,000 early bird prize, Richard shared that he had received a diagnosis of stage four stomach cancer in 2018.

“It was a very difficult time, but with the support of my Family and friends I came out the other side in remission.” Richard shares

Richard underwent a combination of chemotherapy and a course of immunotherapy.

“When I was first diagnosed, the five-year survival rate was between two and four percent. It is currently between thirty and fifty percent.”

“The Win could not have come at a better time for me. I have been retired for sixteen years so I have a tight budget to manage.”

Tickets are available now for our September raffle. Purchase your $5 Cancer Council WA raffle tickets today and you will have 7 chances to win! Prizes include a choice between a brand-new Audi Q2 or $50,000 cash.
