Rainbow Storytime celebrating diversity

Wodonga Library will host an inclusive and supportive event on Thursday, November 28 celebrating the diversity of the community.

Drag queen performers from “Haus of Fork” will be guest storytellers sharing books that challenge traditional gender stereotypes and embrace themes of acceptance and understanding.

Following the ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ trend overseas (and beginning to spread in Australia) Wodonga Library is proud to host this event during the 16 Days of Activism.

These sessions send an inclusive message to our community and encourage our LGBTQI+ patrons to feel safe and respected in the library space.

Dannii D has performed with some of Melbourne’s drag elite and performs yearly in Hay for the town’s annual Rainbow On the Plains Mardi Gras with Dragology, a drag troupe.

Dannii has also performed at Beer Deluxe, Soho (now Public House), One Night Club for Hume Phoenix Drag Night, Hot House Theatre, Border Pride and World Aids Day in Albury.

Yawns Fork debuted in Albury in 2016 and has performed at Beer Deluxe, Soho (now Public House), One Night Club, Hot House Theatre, Retro Lane, Border Pride, The Cube and Albury Wodonga Aboriginal Health Service.

Rainbow Storytime will be at The Cube Wodonga from 6pm to 7.30pm.

All ages welcome.
