Raptor Squad arrest four men during operation targeting OMCG activity in state’s Riverina region

Raptor Squad South detectives have arrested four men during a deployment to the state’s Riverina region targeting outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) members and their associates.

The proactive operation was carried out from Tuesday 18 July 2023 to Thursday 20 July 2023 across the Wagga Wagga and Griffith areas.

On Tuesday 18 July 2023, officers attached to Riverina Police District – with assistance from Raptor Squad officers – executed multiple search warrants in Borooma, Tolland, The Rock and Mount Austin in Wagga Wagga following an investigation into reports of assault and intimidation.

Police then arrested four men aged 40, 32, 39 and 41.

The 40-year-old man was taken to Tumut Police Station, where he was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, affray, participate in a criminal group, and common assault.

The other three men were processed at Wagga Wagga Police Station where they were charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, affray, and participate in a criminal group.

They were all refused bail and appeared at Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 19 July 2023.

Police will allege in court the four men had links to the Mongols OMCG.

Later that day, Raptor Squad officers conducted six Firearm Prohibition Order (FPO) compliance checks across Lake Wynangan and Griffith as part of proactive taskings, targeting alleged Bandidos OMCG members and associates.
