Re-opening of Gardiner Park: Bayside

The newly turfed area of Gardiner Park has now been opened for residents to enjoy.

“The recent rain meant we had to delay removing this portion of the fence while the ground dried out. But I think residents will be pleasantly surprised with the restored natural turfed areas of the park,” said Mayor Bill Saravinovski.

Most of Gardiner Park consists of natural turf for existing fauna and flora, and following the upgrade, residents will be able to walk their dogs in the park provided they are on leash.

The Gardiner Park upgrade is part of the NSW State Government’s Planned Precincts initiative for the Bayside West Precinct that includes Arncliffe, Banksia and Cook Cove.

The upgrade includes a synthetic playing field funded by the State Government, which will be hired out to sporting groups for training and games. When it is not in use it will be available to the public for exercise or practice as the park will be open at all times.
