More than 11,400 participants took part in the First 5 Forever Early Literacy Program delivered by Cairns Libraries in the last financial year.
The program, which provides literacy support and resources for families and caregivers, was delivered through 616 events at libraries, community outreach services and through other partnerships.
The First 5 Forever program is an initiative of the Queensland Government, developed and coordinated by the State Library of Queensland. Cairns Regional Council received $123,000 in State funding to deliver the program in the 2020-21 financial year.
