Recognising International Women’s Day, South Australia

International Women’s Day (IWD) has been marked by SA Police employees across the state today.

Acknowledging UN Women’s message of #MorePowerfulTogether, the day recognises that we can all work together to promote gender equality.

SA Police employees were among the hundreds of people who attended an IWD breakfast at the Adelaide Convention Centre this morning – the largest event celebrating IWD in Australia.

Also today the Deputy Commissioner, Linda Williams, was a participant in the Great Debate organised by the Ladies in Red at Prince Alfred College and SA Police representatives, including the officer in charge of the Limestone Coast Local Service Area, attended the Women in Regional and Business Development breakfast in Mt Gambier.

On Monday, SA Police also spoke with the Argent family – Detective Sergeant Christie Argent, and husband Constable Dan Argent who parent 10 children while working full time for SAPOL – about balance. Read more.
