More Snowy Monaro residents than ever before are expected to participate in this year’s Garage Sale Trail with more than 50 sales already registered across the region.

Snowy Monaro households, schools and community groups will join more than 400,000 Australians on Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 November as part of the annual, nationwide Garage Sale Trail.

The Snowy Monaro community is encouraged to participate, either as a seller or buyer, and help make a difference to the amount of waste in the region.

Registrations are free and open now for households, schools, community groups and anyone who is up for a weekend of fun. If you register for the trail before Sunday 15 November, your sale will feature in local media promotion in the lead up to the event.

Now in its 10th year, the Garage Sale Trail weekend promotes buying and selling second-hand items to reduce the amount of waste taking to our landfills. On average, 80 percent of the clothes, bags and fabric homewares bought in Australia end up in landfill.

Organisers of the Garage Sale Trail have opened up online sales to ensure more people can participate despite the COVID-19 restrictions that may be in place when the event is held.
