Regional youth grants closing soon

NSW Government

Local councils, not-for-profit organisations and Local Aboriginal Land Councils are being reminded to submit their applications for funding under the NSW Government’s ‘Our Region, Our Voice’ Regional Youth Investment Program before applications close on Tuesday 4 October 2022.

Grants of up to $3 million are available for projects that ensure regional youth have opportunities for meaningful work and education, accessible healthcare and can thrive within their local communities.

The $40 million package is part of the NSW Government’s record investment in regional youth through the 2022-23 NSW Budget.

Minister for Regional Youth Ben Franklin said he would like to see as many people as possible take advantage of this significant investment from the NSW Government.

“Importantly the Regional Youth Investment Program was developed by youth for youth,” Mr Franklin said.

“We consulted with nearly 2,000 young people across regional NSW to ensure funding would support regional youth in the ways they’ve identified to live their best lives now and into the future.”

“There has never been a greater opportunity for organisations that are addressing the key issues affecting youth in their area to put their hand up for funding.”

Mr Franklin said funding will be allocated across nine themes that emerged as high priorities from Regional Youth Insights, the largest regional youth research project ever commissioned by the NSW Government.

“From more mental health support and improved career pathways to greater recreational activities and reliable public transport, Regional Youth Insights told us exactly what our regional youth want and need,” Mr Franklin said.

“The Regional Youth Investment Program will deliver the funding our regional communities need to not only listen, but also take action based on this research and I urge anyone with an idea to submit an application before time runs out.”

Applications close 10am 4 October, 2022. For more information and to apply visit the Regional Youth Investment Program page.
