Industry professionals and data science providers and organisations looking to innovate are encouraged to register for the WA Data Science for Business Conference and Exhibition, which will be held at the Pan Pacific Perth from June 22-23.
Innovation and ICT Minister Stephen Dawson will give the opening address at the conference, highlighting Western Australia’s growing capability in data and analytics.
Hosted by the WA Data Science Innovation Hub (WADSIH), the event will provide a platform to learn more about the latest trends and technologies, network with the WA business community, and share new ways of gaining a competitive advantage using data.
A partnership between the McGowan Government and Curtin University, WADSIH’s goal is to ensure the State remains at the forefront of the digital revolution by increasing the uptake, education, training and awareness of data science in WA. It also promotes expertise and advocates for increased data literacy.
Through the second round of the New Industries Fund, the WA Government has committed $1.2 million over the next four years to the hub, building on an earlier investment of $1 million.
The New Industries Fund supports and accelerates WA’s innovative startups, emerging businesses and small and medium enterprises to diversify local and regional economies and create jobs.
