We are seeking expressions of interest for the delivery of specialist services under the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Heritage Protection Act 1984 (ATSIHP Act).
The ATSIHP Act is used to protect significant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander areas and objects from threat of harm, by allowing First Nations people to submit applications for protection to the Minister for the Environment.
To fulfil the requirements of the ATSIHP Act, we need skilled report writers and consulting agents (mediators). Report writers and consulting agents must have:
- experience working effectively with First Nations peoples on complex matters
- high-level report writing and/or mediation skills.
We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and businesses to apply.
