Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC), in conjunction with the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES) and Rural Fire Service, is inviting residents to attend fire information sessions at four Toowoomba escarpment locations over the final two Saturdays in October.
Toowoomba Region Mayor and Local Disaster Management Group (LDMG) chair Cr Geoff McDonald said QFES/Rural Fire Service representatives and Council officers would discuss escarpment fire preparedness on Saturday, October 21 and Saturday, October 28, 2023.
Information session schedule:
October 21: 9 to 10am at the end of Harvey Street, Mt Lofty; 10.30 to 11.30am at Katoomba Point lookout, Prince Henry Drive (Prince Henry Heights).
October 28: 9 to 10am at Leslie Park, Rangeville; 10.30 to 11.30am at the end of Trafalgar Street, Middle Ridge.
Mayor McDonald said the sessions would provide a summer fire season outlook and offer residents a chance to speak with fire authorities.
