Restaurant open for business at West Gippsland Arts Centre

One of Warragul’s most anticipated restaurants will open its doors today for lunchtime trading.

Albert & Smith will dish up a range of seasonal dishes for lunch Monday to Friday, with extended opening hours for pre-dinner shows at the West Gippsland Arts Centre. The restaurant will also offer catering for functions and events.

Proprietors David and Sam O’Neill are well established in the local hospitality scene, having previously managed both In2Food and Stagedoor. Behind the scenes is experienced local chef Ed McDowell.

The opening menu will offer a mix of classic and contemporary dishes such as Gippsland Scotch Fillet, Bombay Beef Curry, Spanish Calamari Salad, Homemade Gnocchi with slow-cooked Lamb and Poke Bowls with marinated Ocean Trout or Tofu.

The dessert menu includes Tiramisu, Panna Cotta, French Bread & Butter Pudding and Profiteroles.

The restaurant will employ approximately 20 full-time, part-time and casual staff.
