With the easing of some COVID-19 restrictions across Australia, Burnet Institute Deputy Director, Professor Margaret Hellard AM, has warned against complacency.

“Victoria and Australia have done really well in response to COVID-19, we’ve not had the cases seen overseas, and people have generally done well with social distancing and the restrictions that have been imposed,” Professor Hellard told ABC Radio Central Victoria.

“But COVID19 has not gone away, it’s still around and it will come back if we don’t follow the new restrictions.”
