Night racing will return to Sydney Motorsport Park in August 2020 after the NSW Government allocated $33 million to redevelop the venue.

In a boost for the regions, the Bathurst 1000 will be held at Mount Panorama in October, followed by the Newcastle 500 in December 2020.

NSW Minister for Sport John Sidoti acknowledged motorsport’s growing popularity. It is the fourth most attended sport in Australia and the inaugural Sydney SuperNight in 2018 delivered $2.6 million in visitor revenue for NSW.

“It’s huge for NSW to host three of the country’s most exciting, high-profile Supercars events,” Mr Sidoti said.

NSW Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said: “It’s fantastic to see night racing return to Sydney Motorsport Park on the back of the NSW Government’s investment to refresh the venue.”
