Residents are invited to come along to the official re-opening of the Clifton Library on Thursday 21 March.
After being closed temporarily to allow for the library to be modernised, Toowoomba Regional Council Environment and Community Portfolio Leader Joe Ramia, said the library was looking better than ever.
“We have modernised the space within the library, integrating the public internet access area into the main library floor and increased accessibility for our residents,” he said.
“While opening up the library floor, the building was also updated with new furnishings such as carpet, interior paint and lighting to revitalise the library interior, with movable flip-top tables and stackable chairs for the meeting room to cater for its many uses.”
The Clifton Library overhaul, as part of a district libraries refurbishment project, emphasises how important libraries are to each community as public gathering places, and will ensure the region has access to modern and accessible facilities.
“This project has been hugely successful in ensuring each of our libraries continues to be an enjoyable, practical and highly accessible gathering place for the local community,” Cr Ramia said.
“Clifton Library is the latest library space to receive a refresh and refurbishment with a number of district libraries undergoing refurbishment projects over the past few years.”
The official re-opening of the library will take place on Thursday 21 March at 3.30pm.
A coding and robotics play area will be available to the public with light refreshments served as well as the full range of library services on offer for those wishing to browse the collection.
