Rider dies after truck and motorcycle collide in Purrumbete

Police are investigating a fatal collision between a truck and a motorcycle in Purrumbete this afternoon.

It is understood the two vehicles collided at the intersection of Nehill and Alexanders Road, and Cobden – Stonyford Road, about 5.15pm.

Two off-duty nurses performed CPR on the rider however they sadly died at the scene.

The rider is yet to be formally identified.

The driver and sole occupant of the truck, a 39-year-old Roxburgh Park man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation into the circumstances of the collision is underway.

The Cobden – Stonyford Road will remain closed for several hours.
