Rider injured after crash in Northcote

Greensborough Highway Patrol are appealing for witnesses after a motorcycle rider suffered life-threatening injuries in a Northcote crash overnight.

Police have been told the rider appeared to be travelling at speed just prior to the collision on High Street on Sunday 6 March about 10.50pm.

It’s believed the rider lost control, near the intersection of Urquhart Street, and crashed into a tram stop barrier.

The 29-year-old Flemington man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward after it was reported the black and white KTM motorcycle was seen on Hoddle Street travelling erratically and at speed just prior to the collision.
