Murrindindi Shire Council is happy to announce that contracts are now awarded for road repair works on Whanregarwen Road, Ghin Ghin Road and Molesworth-Dropmore Road, and several roads in the Eildon, Caveat and Kanumbra region, which were damaged during the October 2022 Floods.
Council has experienced over $30 million worth of damage to its roads and infrastructure from last year’s floods. Immediately after the event, Council completed temporary rectification works on several impacted roads to allow safe travel for motorists, however a small number of roads remain closed since last year or with traffic management in place.
Long-term repairs to flood-impacted roads have recently been approved by state and federal governments, who are responsible for providing financial assistance to councils, to assist with the costs associated with infrastructure repairs and reinstatement following declared disasters.
Council is pleased to confirm that repair works will take place over the next two months on the following roads:

Repairs to other flood impacted roads are soon to be announced, when funding from the State and Commonwealth Governments is confirmed, in addition to those already listed. More details, including traffic impacts and road closures resulting from the works, will be provided on our website at murrindindi.vic.gov.au/floodroadrepairs once they have been confirmed. Information on any road closures will also be listed on the VicTraffic website at traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au
Funding to undertake these works is provided through the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) which is jointly funded by the Australian Government and the Victorian Government.
