Road Safety Week 2022

NT Government

This week the Northern Territory will light up yellow for National Road Safety Week.

Running from 15-22 May, National Road Safety Week honours those we have lost and pledges to make the roads safer for everyone.

National Road Safety Week forms part of the Territory Government’s Towards Zero Road Safety Action Plan, and aims to raise awareness that road safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Various buildings and icons will be lit up yellow to shine a light on road safety and put practices in place to keep everyone safe on the road.

18 people have already tragically lost their lives on our roads this year. On average, 40 people are killed and around 480 are seriously injured on Territory roads each year.

People are encouraged to support the cause by displaying or wearing a yellow ribbon, and make sure you Drive So Others Survive.

As part of National Road Safety Week, the Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics has launched the 2022 Road Safety Treasure Hunt, an exciting and interactive game using augmented reality. Find all four animations and enter the draw for a chance to win one of seven $500 fuel vouchers.
