Road toll rises, South Australia

The State’s road toll has risen to 65 following the death of an elderly man involved in a crash near Naracoorte early this month.

Just before 3pm on Wednesday 3 July, a Toyota Landcruiser travelling on Pondam Road at Hynam, left the road and hit a tree about 15kms east of Naracoorte.

The driver and only occupant in the vehicle, an 86-year-old man from Naracoorte was admitted taken to the local Naracoorte Hospital, but sadly his condition deteriorated and he died earlier today.

The State’s road toll was 42 at the same time last year.
