Robbery and extortion charges in Buderim, QLD

Sunshine Coast detectives have charged two men following an alleged robbery in Buderim on January 2.

It will be alleged at 8.20pm, two men, one of whom was armed with a firearm, forced their way into a Clatworthy Court home.

Police will further allege the men threatened an occupant and demanded money and property.

It will be further alleged one a 39-year-old man’s shoulder was injured as the men forced their way into his home.

The men allegedly left the home with a quantity of property including, computer devices, mobile telephones, money, identification, tools and personal belongings.

On January 4, detectives from Maroochydore Criminal Investigation Branch executed a search warrant at an address in Caloundra West.

During the search several items were allegedly located and seized, including a sawn-off rifle and property belonging to the 39-year-old man.

A 34-year-old Battery Hill man has been charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intention to commit indictable offence, robbery whilst armed, extortion, possession of a weapon, enter premises and commit indictable offence, receiving tainted property, fail to dispose of needle or syringe and possession of tainted property.

He will appear in the Maryborough Magistrate Court later today.

A 38-year-old Mooloolah Valley man has been charged with one count each of enter dwelling with intention to commit indictable offence, robbery whilst armed and extortion.

He has been remanded to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on March 15.
