Robbery suspect arrested in city, South Australia

A man has been arrested following an aggravated robbery in the CBD this morning.

Just before 6am, Friday 14 February police were called to King William Street, near the corner of Grenfell Street after a man allegedly threatened the victim with a piece of glass and demanded cash.

Thankfully, the victim, a 27-year-old man from Windsor Gardens was not physically injured. The suspect left on foot with a small amount of cash.

Police quickly attended and located the alleged suspect on Flinders Street where he was placed under arrest without incident.

The 23-year-old Somerton Park man has been detained and taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for a Mental Health assessment; he is expected to be charged with aggravated robbery later today.
