Robbery with violence at Broadbeach, QLD

Police are seeking public assistance after a woman had her handbag stolen during a confrontation in toilets at Broadbeach yesterday morning.

Around 11am yesterday the 45-year-old woman was leaving a toilet cubicle in Pratten Park near the intersection with Margaret Avenue when a man approached her and demanded her handbag. He then grabbed her by her hair forcing her backwards and causing her to fall to the floor.

The woman fled, abandoning the handbag.

The man is described as Caucasian, 40-45 years old with a medium build, scruffy, a week old facial hair, dark short hair with some grey and was wearing a chequered red shirt and jeans.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man matching this description in and around the Pratten Park area between 10am and 12 midday yesterday.
