Robertson Park hosts outdoor cinema screening of classic film E.T

Enjoy an evening under the stars when Orange City Council’s Future Flix outdoor cinema event is held in Robertson Park on Friday 16 April.

Bring your family and friends along to watch Steven Spielberg’s classic film, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.

The free, ticketed event is being held with assistance from the NSW Government’s Summer Fund.

The fund supports councils to enliven local public spaces in the wake of the pandemic by running free, safe events for people to get out and about while supporting local businesses and boosting the economy.

Future Flix is being held in partnership with Orange Open Air, and will be run in a similar way to council’s monthly Future Tunes music gigs, with stalls set up in the park for people to purchase food and drinks.

Orange Mayor Reg Kidd said hundreds of people had turned out to enjoy the free Future Tunes music gigs and support CBD businesses over the past few months.

“This is something a bit different, and another great way to get out into the city centre and spend a relaxing evening in one of Orange’s premier public spaces, Robertson Park,” Cr Kidd said.

“Everyone is encouraged to come along, bring their chairs, picnic rugs or a warm blanket, and enjoy a great outdoor event before the cooler weather really sets in.”

Gates open at 5.30pm and the film will begin at 6.30pm.
