Robyn Clarke delivers for Pinjarra Bowls with $400k for shade cover

  • New shade canopy for Pinjarra Bowling and Recreation Club
  • $401,012 in funding approved through the Cook Government’s Community Sport and Recreation Facilities Fund
  • Part of a $24.2 million investment into sporting and recreational facilities throughout the State

The Pinjarra Bowling and Recreation Club will receive $401,012 towards the construction of a new shade canopy that will enable members and visitors to enjoy play during the summer months.

The project, which has been strongly supported by Murray Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke, will cost $1,203,036 and will be completed thanks to a generous donation of $500,000 from patron Graham Riley.

More than $20 million is being handed out to 24 projects via the Community Sporting and Recreation Facilities Fund (CSRFF). Clubs and local governments are receiving funding for improvements such as new changerooms as well as football, netball, tennis, swimming, golf, bowling, BMX, and skate park facilities.

An advisory committee of community, local government, State Government, sporting and Aboriginal interests stakeholders are involved in the assessment of applications. Recommendations are then made to the Sport and Recreation Minister for approval.

The CSRFF and Club Night Lights Program (CNLP) are administered by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries. “I am delighted to announce that the Pinjarra Bowling and Recreation Club has been successful in their application for funding through the CSRFF for the construction of a shade canopy.

“I would like to thank Murray Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke for her strong advocacy for this project. Her hard work and dedication to her community is to be commended.”

As stated by Murray Wellington MLA Robyn Clarke:

“This is fantastic news for the members of Pinjarra Bowling and Recreation Club, who have been asking for a shade canopy for a number of years now.

“The canopy over “A” Green will give them respite from the sun and allow them to play year round, at all hours of the day.”
