Algal bloom has forced the closure of the Rockpool on The Strand this morning.
Council crews will drain the pool today before undertaking cleaning.
The algae is present in the bay, and is prevalent in the Rockpool as water for the Rockpool is drawn from the bay.
The Rockpool will reopen when water quality in the bay improves and the pool can be safely refilled.
Council is monitoring the situation and is undertaking water quality testing.
Signage has been installed at the Rockpool to advise people of the closure. Lifeguards will also inform visitors.
