Rosebud police drag man from crashed vehicle

Two quick thinking officers have dragged a man from a vehicle leaking fuel following a crash in Main Ridge last night.

The acting sergeant and senior constable from Rosebud were first to arrive at the Browns Road scene to find the utility on its side about 11pm.

It is believed the vehicle left the road and crashed through a number of trees before coming to rest on its side.

The officers tore open the vehicles smashed windscreen and rescued the man from the Ute.

The 23-year-old man, who police have been told was on a buck’s weekend, was given a preliminary breath test and returned a positive result.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

It is expected the Officer man will be charged on summons with drink driving, reckless conduct endangering life, careless driving and failing to wear a seatbelt.
