Round Three Aboriginal Tourism Grant Recipients Announced

A total of 12 Territory businesses have been awarded a share of more than $200,000 as part of round three of the Aboriginal Tourism Grant Program.

Aboriginal Tourism Grants are targeted to assist Aboriginal owned and operated businesses with projects to support tourism experiences.

The grants are capped at $20,000 to support projects and attracted a co-contribution from applicants of more than $56,800.

One success story includes $19,991 for the Iltja Ntjarra Many Hands Art Centre to enhance the front entry with art work, murals and interpretive works.

Luwungunji in the Barkly Region also received $18,177 to support a cultural and environmental tourism infrastructure upgrade and activity expansion, including installation of a new bird hide, water supply and bathroom.

Nominations for round three opened on 1 September and closed on 13 October.
