Roundabout Works Underway At Black Head

MidCoast Council

Work is underway to construct a new roundabout at the intersection of Blackhead Road and Diamond Beach Road.

The new roundabout will improve safety and support future growth in the Black Head area.

Works include pavement widening and adjustments, new kerbs and traffic islands, stormwater drainage and street lighting. The roundabout will also include provision for a future road connection to support housing development south of Blackhead Road.

The majority of works will be completed alongside the existing roadway, allowing the intersection to remain open. Reduced speed limits and narrower traffic lanes will be in place at times while work is underway.

Every effort will be made to minimise impacts on motorists and nearby residents. However, some night works will be required to complete pavement milling and asphalt works, with delays expected during these activities.

Motorists are asked to follow traffic controls, observe reduced speed limits and drive to the conditions.

Works are expected to be completed in late 2026, weather permitting.

The project is jointly funded by the NSW Government through the Accelerated Infrastructure in High Growth Areas program and MidCoast Council.
