RSPCA to use vet treatment room at new pound

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Queensland (RSPCA Qld) will have access the veterinary treatment room at Council’s new Animal Care and Education Facility for the next two years.

Veterinary services and treatment of animals is costly, as are the facilities required to employ appropriately trained staff.

Allowing the organisation to use the unoccupied treatment room to employ their own veterinarian staff, will enhance their capacity to provide care for RSPCA animals in care, Council animals in care, and other outreach programs run by either entity.

The arrangement, valued at $51,600, will also provide significant benefit to Council, with standard care treatments and services to be delivered in house by the veterinary staff on site and at no cost.
